Booking Jobs On The Up And Up!

In the first six months of 2018, our bookings made through our call centre and phone app have gone up – surpassing the numbers achieved in the same period last year!

Bookings in June alone grew by close to 16.9% year-on-year – the biggest year-on-year jump since September 2014. Part of the turnaround in bookings is a result of the Company’s efforts in rolling out marketing promotions for passengers in recent months, as well as weekly incentives for cabbies.

To-date, over 13,000 cabbies have qualified for weekly incentives. Three cabbies share how the weekly incentives have motivated them to do better:

#1 - Cabby Ye Seng Long

Cabby Ye Seng Long is not just good at bidding for booking jobs, he's excellent at it! So good is he that he's received the maximum amount of weekly incentives for 10 weeks straight

The 55-year-old has not only observed an 8% increase in the booking jobs he takes daily, but also a jump in his daily income. He said: "It helps that I use the ComfortDelGro Bidding App on top of the MDT. The App is especially useful as it allows me to bid for jobs even when I am not in my taxi!”

#2 - Cabby Anthony Hung

Cabby Anthony Hung may have just rejoined ComfortDelGro Taxi in January 2018, but the time away has not diminished his aspiration to be one of the top booking cabbies. In fact, it is very much alive and is what drives him to take any booking jobs that are sent his way via the MDT and the ComfortDelGro Bidding App.

And in just four months, he has become one of top 10 booking cabbies to receive weekly incentives in the highest tier for seven weeks. The 59-year-old has seen the booking jobs he takes increase by 65% from January to April. His income, too, has gone up by about 40% despite him driving the same number of hours.

He said: "I have seen more bookings and street hail as well. Some of the passengers have shared with me that they have returned to taking taxis as they are not getting the same kind of discounts with third party apps. They also prefer taxis because cabbies know locations and routes better."

#3 - Cabby Kevin Koh

When told he made top booking cabby for six consecutive weeks, Cabby Kevin Koh could not believe it. The hirer of two years drives the night shift from 5.30pm to 11.30pm daily. For seven consecutive weeks, he completed more jobs than he did before and qualified for the weekly incentives in the highest tier.

Said the 58-year-old: "The aim was to hit the target that I have been given because I was concerned I could not achieve it. So it's come as a pleasant surprise to learn that I have achieved it for six weeks in a row! It is not as difficult as it seems."

Great job cabbies and keep up the good work!
