A ComfortDelGro "super" relief driver, a property agent and Chairperson of an international school association, Mr Gregory Lye is one who wears many hats for work.

But it is his role as "super" relief driver that he relishes the most. So much so that he was not only nominated by passengers for the Singapore Tourism Awards - Best Customer Service for Transport category by the Singapore Tourism Board this year but has just beat three other contenders to win it!

As a "super" relief, Gregory steps in to drive whenever another cabby is unavailable to do so. He drives over 10 hours a day.

As part of customer service, the 62-year-old stashes the taxi with bottles of mineral water, plasters and ointments - paid for by tips from passengers. He even creates a simple lucky dip bag in which he keeps snacks for children to pick if they feel restless during the journey.

Said Gregory, who received the Award from President Halimah Yacob, at a ceremony tonight: "Being nominated by passengers for the Singapore Tourism Awards is already a reward in itself. To win it is really the icing on the cake!"

Gregory, you have done us proud! Keep up the good work!
